Rheumatologist Serving Rosenberg, TX
Rosenberg sits at the southern end of Fort Bend County's growth corridor. Our Katy clinic is reached on the Grand Parkway or FM 723, and for many residents it is a more predictable drive than the Highway 59 corridor.

Rheumatology options from Rosenberg
Rosenberg is the furthest of the Fort Bend communities we regularly serve, and we would rather be straightforward about that than pretend otherwise. It is a genuine drive, and for some residents Sugar Land will be closer.
What brings Rosenberg patients to Katy is usually one of three things. Some live in the northern part of the city where the Grand Parkway makes Katy the more direct option. Some want to avoid the Highway 59 corridor, which is heavily congested and prone to unpredictable delays. And some have been through a large practice already and want continuity with a single rheumatologist instead.
Being honest about the trade-off
If your rheumatology needs are straightforward and there is a practice closer to you, that may well be the better choice. Where the extra distance is usually worth it is in more complex situations: an uncertain diagnosis, disease that has not responded to several treatments, or a condition such as lupus where continuity of observation genuinely affects care quality.
Not certain rheumatology is what you need? Call before you drive and we will talk it through.

The main routes
- The Grand Parkway (TX-99) north, the most direct route and the one most Rosenberg patients use
- FM 723 north through Richmond towards Katy, toll-free but slower
- FM 359 north through Fulshear, a rural alternative that avoids both the tollway and Richmond traffic
- US-90A east then north, generally the least efficient option
PLACEHOLDER: now that the clinic address is confirmed as 19002 Park Row Blvd, Suite 100, replace this with turn-by-turn directions from central Rosenberg and an accurate drive time via each of the main routes, plus parking details.
Planning the journey
Because this is a longer trip than for our Katy and Cinco Ranch patients, it is worth grouping things where possible. If blood work is needed, ask whether it can be drawn at the same visit rather than requiring a separate trip. If you are due imaging, ask whether it can be arranged locally in Rosenberg or Richmond with the report sent to us.
Where a diagnosis has stayed unclear for months, a full specialist assessment is worth the journey.

Making a longer trip worthwhile
If you are travelling from Rosenberg, a little preparation makes a real difference to how much you get from the appointment.
- Send records ahead rather than bringing them on the day, so they can be reviewed before you arrive
- Write down your three most important questions in order, so the appointment covers what matters most to you
- Photograph any rash, swollen joint or colour change on a bad day; these often settle before the appointment
- Time your morning stiffness for several days beforehand and bring the number
- Bring a full list of medications and supplements with doses, including anything recently stopped
- Ask about combining blood work with the visit rather than making a separate trip
Ask too about which follow-ups genuinely need to be in person. Some monitoring can be done through local blood draws with results reviewed remotely, which reduces the number of long trips considerably.
PLACEHOLDER: confirm whether the practice offers telemedicine follow-up and whether blood work can be drawn locally with results sent in.
We will try to fit examination, blood work and planning into a single trip.
Schedule Your VisitWhat we treat
- Rheumatoid arthritis, including seronegative disease with normal antibodies
- Lupus and the overlapping autoimmune conditions around it
- Psoriatic arthritis and inflammatory disease of the spine
- Gout, especially where attacks continue despite being on treatment
- Bone density assessment and preventing fractures
- Polymyalgia rheumatica, common after fifty and quick to respond
- Fibromyalgia, and long-standing pain that has proved hard to label
- Tiredness with aching joints and immunology that came back abnormal
Polymyalgia rheumatica is worth flagging for anyone over 50 with sudden severe aching and stiffness across the shoulders, neck and hips, particularly if getting out of bed or lifting the arms has become difficult. It responds dramatically to treatment, and delays in diagnosis cause avoidable months of disability.
Sudden aching across the shoulders and hips after fifty has a treatable explanation more often than people expect.
Start Your Treatment PlanGout in Fort Bend County
Gout is the most common inflammatory arthritis in adults and one we see frequently from the Rosenberg area. It is also the condition where the gap between what is achievable and what people actually experience is widest, so it is worth setting out plainly.
What gout should look like when treated properly
No attacks. Not fewer attacks, not shorter attacks: none. For the large majority of people, once uric acid is brought below target and kept there, gout stops happening. Any tophi shrink over months to years. It becomes a condition you take one tablet for and otherwise do not think about.
Why so many people never get there
- Treated only during attacks, with nothing done between them
- Started on allopurinol at a low dose that is never increased
- Uric acid never rechecked, so nobody knows whether target was reached
- Treatment stopped after an attack occurred in the first months, which is expected rather than a failure
- Told it is a diet problem, so effective medication is never offered
- Diuretics or low-dose aspirin raising uric acid, never reviewed
The question to ask
If you are having gout attacks while taking a daily tablet, ask what your most recent uric acid level was and what the target is. That single question identifies the problem in most cases. The usual target is below 6 mg/dL, and lower where there are visible deposits.
Gout also travels with high blood pressure, kidney disease, diabetes and cardiovascular disease, so an attack is a reasonable prompt to have those checked as well.
Booking from Rosenberg
New patients are welcome. Given the distance, call ahead with any questions about whether your problem is one we handle, so that you are not making the trip unnecessarily.
PLACEHOLDER: confirm parking, referral policy, insurance plans accepted, typical new-patient wait time, and whether telemedicine follow-up is available.
We would rather you were seen conveniently than travel for care available closer to home.
Talk to Our RheumatologistPLACEHOLDER: confirm the toll and toll-free drive times from Rosenberg, and whether local blood draws and telemedicine follow-up can be offered. The polymyalgia rheumatica content needs physician review.
Frequently asked questions
Rosenberg: common questions
Is Katy too far from Rosenberg for regular appointments?
It is a genuine drive and we would rather say so. For straightforward problems a closer practice may suit you better. The extra distance is usually worth it for uncertain diagnoses, disease that has not responded to several treatments, or conditions where continuity matters most.
What is the best route from Rosenberg?
The Grand Parkway (TX-99) north is the most direct. FM 723 and FM 359 are toll-free alternatives that take longer. PLACEHOLDER: add drive times for each to the clinic at 19002 Park Row Blvd.
Can I have blood tests done locally?
PLACEHOLDER: confirm whether the practice can arrange local blood draws with results sent in, which would reduce the number of trips considerably during the monitoring-heavy early months of treatment.
Do you offer telemedicine appointments?
PLACEHOLDER: confirm whether telemedicine follow-up is offered, and for which appointment types. Initial assessments in rheumatology generally require an in-person joint examination.
Should I go to Sugar Land instead?
Possibly, depending where in Rosenberg you live and what you need. We would rather you got good care conveniently than travelled unnecessarily. Call if you are unsure and we can talk it through.
I am over 50 with sudden shoulder and hip stiffness. What could it be?
That pattern raises polymyalgia rheumatica, particularly when it develops over days to weeks and makes lifting the arms or rising from a chair difficult. It responds quickly to treatment, so it is worth being seen promptly.
Do I need a referral?
PLACEHOLDER: confirm the referral policy. Many PPO plans allow direct booking while most HMO plans require one.
How can I make the trip worthwhile?
Send records ahead, write down your top three questions, photograph any rash or swelling on a bad day, time your morning stiffness beforehand, and ask whether blood work can be combined with the visit.
